Dear forrozeiros, welcome back to the weekly column of forró events happening next week in different corners of the world.
I am arriving at the very last second (some events are going to happen tonight) and I am a little short of time, so this will not be a very full agenda ..
nonetheless I hope I can be useful to as many forrozeiros as possible.
As for the forró festivals, this week it is the turn for Freiburg to be the perfect stage for forró lovers.
The place is so lovely, and the program is rich.
Do not miss it, if you have the chance. I am sure it is going to be Worth it (but be aware of the fact that the tickets for the parties are sold out already)
It is going to happen from Nov. 30rd to Dec 3rd.
Talking instead of single night events, Italy is a place where to be this week.
Indeed, this evening, Friday Nov 26th in Bologna many forrozeiros are gathering to dance with a good dj set.
And all these people, and many more, are meeting on Dec. 2nd for a workshop of samba de gafieira …
In Firenze there will be Ayo Barbosa on Nov. 29th, for a workshop followed by a night of dance (of course), while in Roma there will be a party with Evandro do Reis on Dec 1st!!
Last (but not least, of course) in Genova on Dec. 2nd, Fabio Reis will close the weekend with his energy and his perfect style as forró teacher and dancer.
Being one of the promoter of this wonderful part of the culture of the Northeast of Brasil in Italy, I can’t but be very happy to see how the knowledge of it is growing and spreading.
And speaking about this, I am happy to let you know that a new forró band was formed in Torino.
Their name is Trio DonaFulô and here they are
As for Europe
Two nights of forró in a row are waiting for you in Dublin on Nov. 29th and Nov. 30rd (please visit their Facebook page for more details)
in Geneve on Dec. 2n Juliana Braga will be performing, while in Amsterdam there will be free forró classes on Wednesday and in Prague there will be a forró party after a capoeira event (I love this kind of mix!)
Forró classes are available even in New York City, if you are there on Dec. 2nd
Last, as for Brasil, this week I suggest you to go, once again, to the Canto da Ema.
The following is happening on Wednesday
Before wishing you a happy week full of forró, I’d like to call your attention to the cause sponsored by forró Milano, which is that of the children accused of witchcraft in Nigeria (as in many other countries of western Africa).
To them, life can be back to be as joyful as a dance is if we stand for their rights.
